West Ed
WestEd analyzes California Healthy Kids Survey data at the district, school, and county level, and presents these data in a variety of report formats. The comprehensive survey provides a range of information on health risks and resilience.

California Health Interview Survey
UCLA Center for Health Policy Research
This telephone survey of children, adolescents, and adults from all over California covers dozens of health topics and provides statewide and local data. The AskCHIS online database allows users to customize data by locale, age group, race/ethnicity, income, and other categories.

SafeState: More County Data Online
SafeState: Preventing Crime & Violence in California provides an online source of county data, with state comparisons, covering topics such as crime, education, health, immigration, and social services. It includes data for all ages and is a project of the California Attorney General's Crime and Violence Prevention Center.

2007 California County Data Book
Children Now (2007)
Provides county-level data on 45 indicators covering children's health, education, and economic well being. Also see Children Now's 2007-08 California Report Card, a snapshot of the status of children in California, as well as Children in Immigrant Families: A California Data Brief (2007).

The Annie E. Casey Foundation
Online databases with national demographic information and indicators of child well being by state and select local regions. Offerings include Census Data Online, Kids Count Data Book, County-City-Community Level Information on Kids (CLIKS), and Right Start Online.

Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent Health
The Child and Adolescent Health Measurement Initiative
Provides access to survey data from the National Survey of Children's Health and the National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs, and allows comparisons of state, regional, and nationwide results, as well as comparisons by demographic groups.

State Health Facts Online
Kaiser Family Foundation
Although not focused solely on children, this website provides a wealth of health information for each of the 50 states.

Diversitydata.org
Harvard School of Public Health
This website contains many indicators of child and adult well being, with a focus on the economic and social opportunities available to different racial and ethnic communities. These data are available for metropolitan areas.

U.S. Census Bureau
Links to demographic, economic, housing, and other types of data and reports from the U.S. Census and other surveys. Data are available at the national, state, county, city and zip code levels.

UNICEF
A multimedia report and interactive database on the status of children worldwide. The 2007 edition focuses on gender discrimination and empowering women and girls. Includes data tables, maps, analysis of key issues facing children, and information on human rights.
