California Healthy Kids Survey Data Available Through Kidsdata.org
Student-reported data on exercise, nutrition, use of alcohol and other drugs and
school connectedness from the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS), a survey of
the California Department of Education (CDE), now are available on kidsdata.org.
This is the result of a new partnership between the Lucile Packard Foundation for
Children's Health and WestEd,
which administers the CHKS survey for CDE. Kidsdata.org will add CHKS data on additional
topics in the coming months.
Data are currently available only for California and Bay Area counties (Alameda,
Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara). If you don’t
see data for your county or district, change the year in the toolbox, as the survey
is administered every other year in most school districts. In Fall 2009, Kidsdata
will expand to all 58 counties in California.
